The Marantz SA-10 is awarded with a 5-star review from ‘What Hi-Fi?’

The Marantz SA-10 Super Audio CD Player has received a prestigious 5-Star review from ‘What Hi-Fi?’. When discussing the SA-10, What Hi-Fi said: “We’re in no doubt that the Marantz SA-10 is a brilliant digital source component and one of the finest disc players we’ve come across. It’s very well made and has the kind of unfussy disposition that allows it to sound right at home across a wide range of systems.” To read the full review from ‘What Hi-Fi?’, click here.

The idea behind the creation of the Marantz SA-10 was simple: build the best disc player/DAC the company has ever made. And that meant going back to basics in every area, from the disc transport itself to the way the digital signals are processed, as well as ensuring the design was entirely future-proof by providing an asynchronous USB-B input for the connection of a computer.

To play SACD, CD, DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW discs, we avoided the usual route taken in players of this kind, using an ‘off-the-shelf’ DVD-ROM drive of the kind commonly found in computers. Instead, and in our quest for ultimate sound quality, we built our own: the new SACD-M3. This is the latest in an acclaimed range of disc mechanisms built for Marantz players, and can play not just CDs and SACDs, but also high-resolution audio stored on either CD or DVD recordable media.
